We are not sure when the Federal Reserve is going to move, but if you play this game, they should do something quick because it is hard to keep the economy between the lines. Armchair FOMC members can now try their hand at a new online game called “Chair the Fed” where central bankers need to adjust the target Fed Funds rate to keep the due mandates of growth and inflation at target levels.
Brought to you by the San Francisco Fed, the game is perfect to teach staff about economic policy, use for local education programs or just to fill lunch times. The action is semi-addicting and demonstrates the lag that the economy has and the difficulty that the Fed has to deal with to try to steer the behemoth US economy with limited controls.
You get 16 quarters of play to not only steer the economy but also try to keep your job. This is no Strike Force or Call of Duty, but it is fun and educational non-the-less. To play, go HERE.
Have fun and good luck on getting reappointed!
